Suburban Nursery School and Pre-K was established in 1962 to serve the needs of parents and children in Decatur and surrounding in-town neighborhoods.

From our humble beginnings in a small residential home, to our current campus that includes two connected buildings and large outdoor classrooms, we continue to create a home-away-from-home for our children.

Suburban Nursery School and Pre-K provides a loving, fun and safe environment that supports our children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.  We offer a curriculum of educational excellence that nurtures each child’s unique gifts and talents. We are committed to creativity and diversity through an atmosphere of respect, collaboration and cooperation.

Growing up in Decatur, Mrs. Moore attended Suburban Nursery School and Pre-K as a youngster herself. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Georgia State University. She holds a Masters of Library Science degree from Emory University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University. Mrs. Moore had a 28 year career at AT&T prior to joining Suburban Nursery School, where she was able to leverage her vast business background in the nurturing community of early childhood education. This inspired her to obtain her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. She has since led the center in becoming an early adopter of the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning’s (DECAL) Quality Rated initiative, as Suburban Nursery School obtained the highest, Three Star, Quality Rating. Mrs. Moore has also served on DECAL’s Enforcement Policy Task Force, the Peer Support Network, the Georgia Childcare Association (GCCA) and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

In her free time, Mrs. Moore loves spending time with her family, traveling, reading, discussing current events, and watching movies. She also loves gardening, DIY projects, yoga, music, her dog Graham, and learning.
